Practical Business Systems in Action
Explore examples of systems I have created to organise information, improve administrative processes and make everyday tasks easier to manage.
Systems Created Through Practical /Experience
These examples include systems developed through my professional, voluntary and independent experience. They demonstrate how I identify administrative problems, organise requirements and create practical systems around the people who will use them.
To protect confidential information, the projects are described at a general level and any screenshots or demonstrations use fictional or anonymised data.
Subscription, Income and Invoice Tracking
A central workbook used to monitor subscriptions, invoices, payments, additional income and expenses.

Case Study Information
A Power Apps and Excel solution designed to make student records, training information and grading preparation easier to manage through one clear interface.
Student information needed to be searched, filtered and reviewed efficiently. Manually checking separate records made it harder to identify active students, review eligibility information and prepare for upcoming gradings.
I developed a Power Apps interface connected to structured Excel tables. The application provides a simpler way to search student records, filter information and access individual student details without working directly within the underlying spreadsheets.
Key features:
- Searchable student records
- Active and inactive student filters
- Club-based filtering
- Eligibility information
- Individual student profiles
- Grading-related records
- Clear navigation between screens
- Mobile and tablet access
The system provides a clearer and more convenient way to manage student information and support grading preparation. It reduces the need to search through separate records and presents relevant information through a more user-friendly interface.
Tools used:

This project demonstrates my ability to translate an existing administrative process into a searchable low-code application designed around its users.

Subscription, Income and Invoice Tracking System
PROFESSIONAL PROJECT
System mock-up
Case Study Information
A structured Excel system created to monitor annual subscriptions, invoice activity, payments, additional income and related expenses.
Information about service subscriptions, annual invoices, payments, additional work and expenses needed to be monitored consistently across different financial years.
Without a central process, it would be difficult to quickly identify which organisations had subscribed, which invoices had been issued and which payments remained outstanding.
I developed a central Excel workbook that records subscription status, annual invoice activity and payment progress. The same process also tracks additional work, associated income and relevant expenses.
Key features:
- Annual subscription tracking
- Invoice-sent dates
- Payment-status monitoring
- Additional work records
- Additional income tracking
- Expense monitoring
- Multi-year records
- Clear status fields
The workbook provides a clearer overview of subscriptions, expected income, payments received and outstanding activity. It continues to support the team’s administrative process.
Tools used:

This project demonstrates my ability to bring several connected administrative and financial tracking activities into one organised process.
